The ASC Career Center offers a variety of services year-round to ASC members and non-members, including:
- a web-based position posting service whereby employers can advertise position openings
- a web-based candidate posting service whereby ASC member job candidates can publicize their availability for employment and their credentials
- a web-based opportunity service for scholars and students whereby agencies institutions, organizations, and universities can publicize editor positions, fellowships and visiting scholar positions, and internship opportunities
- an in-person ASC Annual Meeting Employment Exchange at the ASC Annual Meeting each November
- additional resources for job-seekers
Employers
The Career Center can help you find the right person to fill your opening. You can view candidate postings, view position postings, and post details about your position opening. Consider putting a link in your position ad that connects to perhaps a statement from your program head and/or a tour of your campus for potential employees to see. Note that:
- Membership is not required to post a position
- Position postings will be publicly accessible
- The fee schedule is: $250 for the first month, $200 for the second month, and $125 for each month thereafter
- Position postings are posted on weekdays, usually within 48 hours of submission
Candidates
The Career Center helps candidates connect with jobs. Candidates can post their credentials to publicize their availability for employment (ASC Members Only), view candidate postings, and view position postings. Candidate postings for current members are posted at no charge. To submit your post, access the link provided within your member portal. Note that:
- Candidate postings are posted for up to three months
- Postings will be publicly accessible
Scholars & Students
The Career Center helps agencies, institutions, organizations, and universities find the right fit for editor positions, fellowships & visiting scholar positions, and internship opportunities and for scholars and students connect with them. There is no fee to post these position announcements.

ASC Annual Meeting Employment Exchange
At the ASC Annual Meeting in November, the Employment Exchange offers a variety of services to facilitate employment-related contacts and discussions. The services include:
- Multiple copies of binders are made available that contain printed copies of position postings that are valid and listed on the website prior to the pre-meeting cutoff date. This service is included in the fee for the position posting.
- Position postings can be purchased onsite at the annual meeting. Payment is required onsite and follow the same fee structure as the ASC online Career Center. Payment options include: credit card, check or purchase order. Position postings purchased at the annual meeting will be posted on the website during the week that follows the conclusion of the meeting.
- Multiple copies of binders are made available that contain printed copies of candidate postings that are valid and listed on the website prior to the pre-meeting cutoff date. There is no charge for this service, however, it is available to current ASC members only.
- Candidate postings submitted by ASC members at the annual meeting may be posted on the website during the week that follows the conclusion of the meeting. Using the details submitted at the meeting, the member will need to log into her/his ASC member portal and submit the Candidate Posting Form.
- A bulletin board message service is offered to facilitate contact between employers and candidates.
- Space is made available for employment-related discussions or interviews.
